Full Day Uros Islands and Taquile (Lake Titicaca)

You will be picked up from your hotel in the city of Puno and transferred to the port to start our day tour to the islands of the uros and taquile at the time of 6 : 45 am to 07 : 15 am.

Arrival at the port at 07:30 am and continuation to your first destination, the island of Uros. The trip takes 30 minutes and on the way you can see parts of Lake Titicaca.

Upon arrival on the island, you will be warmly greeted by people dressed in traditional costumes. Once off the boat, you will be able to admire the islands underwater and listen quietly to your guide. He will explain in detail how the islands were formed, what materials they are made of and how the inhabitants live. After the tour, there is time to take photos and visit the homes of the residents.

As an option, you can visit a second island of rafts (10,00 S/. price of the visit), where you can taste the typical food of the area and buy local handicrafts. A 40-minute walk will take you to the main square of the island, where you can visit the textile museum and the colonial church.

Quinoa soup is served as a starter, trout as a main course and drinks include the traditional yerba mate de coca or muña to prevent altitude sickness and stomach aches. Your guide will explain the history of the island, the dress of its inhabitants and the main products.

There will be time for photos, after which you will walk to the port, where you will board the ferry back to the main port of Puno.
